What is 340B?
340B is a federal program established in 1992. This requires drug manufacturers to sell outpatient drugs at reduced prices to eligible safety-net providers (covered entities). These savings allow providers to stretch resources, expand services, and improve access to care for underserved patients.

340B helps patients access medications at little or no cost. This allows providers to expand services such as clinic hours, case management, or transportation. 340B strengthens local communities by keeping care accessible for all.
What is a Contract Pharmacy?
A contract pharmacy is a retail or community pharmacy that partners with a covered entity to dispense 340B medications. The Contract Pharmacy supports continuity of care between patients, providers, and pharmacists, allowing covered entities to reinvest savings into patient programs.
